2005 has been a busy year at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum - in between scooping the Bronze Award for Best Small Visitor Attraction of the Year in the Visit London Awards, we have also been finishing the restoration of our unique Bull engine, the only one of it's type in the world which will ever be able to run under steam, as well as developing a new website, allowing a far richer depth of content, plus more up to the minute news of events at the museum.

Museum scoops bronze award for small visitor attraction of the year Print

The Kew Bridge Steam Museum has been voted as a Bronze winner in this years' "Eurostar Visit London Awards" announced last night (Tuesday 29 November) at a gala evening, at Old Billingsgate Market. The museum was selected for the coveted prize from among 5 other London venues for the Small Visitor Attraction category. The other winners, in category, were the Dulwich Picture Gallery which scooped Gold and the South London Gallery who were awarded Silver.

Come to Kew Bridge Steam Museum, shortlisted for the Visit London 2005 Small Visitor of the Year Awards, and see the finest collection of pumping engines in the world, housed in a magnificent 19th century Pumping Station. The engines are in steam every weekend, including the Grand Junction 90 and the massive Cornish beam engines on selected days, which pumped water to West London for over a century. The weekend of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November sees the welcome return of the Live Steam Model Railway Show at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum. The major annual event in the museum's calendar, it will entertain families and railway enthusiasts alike with scores of model railway trains literally puffing away under their own steam!
